Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) funding applications for the 2015-16 academic year are now open.
Current Forth Valley College students – who are hoping to return next year – are being advised to apply early as, if SAAS applications are not submitted before 30 June, their funding may not be in place in time for the start of the next academic year in August.
Additionally, those who are awaiting results or an unconditional offer should also make their funding application regardless. It will be easier to cancel an application if you are not accepted on to a course, than be left with the stress of applying late.
Students (especially those on HNC/HND or degree level courses) are also reminded that even if they are not applying for a student loan, they MUST still apply to SAAS for their tuition fees for every year of their study.
The College Learner Advisory Team are scheduling workshop activities over the next three weeks on-campus starting on 20 April, and students should speak to their LDW for more information.
Visit http://www.saas.gov.uk/forms_and_guides/full_time.htm or call SAAS on 0300 555 0505 Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5pm and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm. SAAS funding films can be viewed on https://www.youtube.com/user/fundingawareness
Forth Valley College HNC/HND and degree students are also able to apply to the college’s Discretionary Fund (help with housing costs) and/or the Childcare Fund (help with child-minder/nursery fees). E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on eligibility. Click here to read more on these types of funding.
