Veteran’s charity, Walking with the Wounded, are hosting their second Balmoral Challenge on Saturday 23 June 2018.
Established in 2010, WWTW supports vulnerable veterans who struggle with physical, mental or social injuries and helps to reintegrate them back into society and to regain their independence. The main focus is finding long-term employment for these individuals and supporting them back into work outside the Armed Forces.
The event is designed for teams of four people, who will then meet and walk their selected course with wounded beneficiaries of the charity from across Scotland. There are 3 available routes ranging from 15km – 30km, providing an option for all ability levels. The routes will all start and finish at the front of Balmoral Castle, giving you a unique opportunity to explore the grounds and there is even the chance to camp overnight on the grounds the night before.
Every team that takes part in this event supports an ex-serviceman or woman to reintegrate back into society meaning that your participation will have a big impact and make a real difference to their lives.
The cost of registration is £220 per team of four and includes all of your meals as well as a motivational talk and some goodies. Each team involved is challenged to raise £2,000 for the charity.
