FVC’s Wellbeing Officer, Alice Smith, will be working alongside Learning Resource Assistants David Gentles (Stirling and Alloa) and Laura McLean (Falkirk) to offer mental wellbeing and craft sessions in a group setting. There will be spaces for 6 students to attend per session. These sessions will bring a creative outlet for students and will help to develop a more inclusive environment.
Almost three quarters of respondents to the BBC Arts Great British Creativity Test survey said creativity helped with stress and anxiety and over a quarter named some kind of making or craft practice as their favourite activity.
Sessions will be held in each campus – Stirling, Falkirk and Alloa from now until the Christmas break. Dates, times and locations are below:
Stirling Campus LRC – Wednesday 23 October and every 2 weeks until 18 December from 10am till 11am.
Falkirk Campus LRC – Wednesday 23 October and every 2 weeks until 18 December from 2pm till 3pm.
Alloa Campus LRC – Thursday 24 October and every 2 weeks until 19 December from 10am till 11am.
